Brad Andrews
Brad AndrewsDPT, CSCS, OWNER
Brad Andrews is Co-Owner of Salus Tampa Bay. He serves as Treasurer and shares the roles of CEO, President, and COO with partner Nick Hughes. A Tampa transplant from Lewiston NY, Andrews grew up just next to Niagara Falls. Following an undergraduate study in Exercise Science, Andrews received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of New York at Buffalo. During this time, Andrews’ graduate capstone research targeted Neurologic Physical Therapy with stroke and multiple sclerosis patients. His clinical rotations, residency, and early Contracted Physical Therapist work took him up and down the East Coast, before settling in Tampa. As he puts it, “Tampa Bay felt right.”

Over a decade into his career, Andrews has worked extensively with orthopedic injuries, including post surgical patients, arthritis conditions and sports injuries. His commitment to continual learning lead to him studying at length with Maitland Physiotherapy Seminars and developing an expertise in the area of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Additionally, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Outside of his leadership roles at Salus and practice of Physical Therapy, Andrews enjoys an active life running, swimming, biking and weightlifting — basically, anything physical, and even better if it’s outdoors!

Nick Hughes

Nick Hughes is Co-Owner, CEO, President, and COO of Salus Tampa Bay, titles he shares with partner Brad Andrews. Hailing from Buffalo, NY, Hughes didn’t have to travel far to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Buffalo. His doctoral capstone research focused on Neurological Physical Therapy with an emphasis on stroke rehabilitation.

Adventuring out into his professional career, Hughes’ work would take him down the East Coast, with a stint in the Midwest, before winding up settling in St. Pete in 2010. During this time, he specialized in outpatient orthopedics, practicing a wide variety of treatments including postsurgical, proprioceptive balance training and general pain reduction.

In addition to leading a successful business, Hughes stays involved in the community as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Young Professional Organization of St. Pete. He also dedicates himself to charity work through the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. In his free time, Hughes enjoys being active and outdoors with friends.

“Physical therapy with Salus was the single best thing I could have done after ACL surgery. I was blown away by the rapid progress, and so was my knee surgeon! They kept me motivated through small, attainable goals and steady progress. As a strength coach and athlete, I highly recommend him to anyone recovering from an injury.”
